Utah's Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Industry
The Utah Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Initiative (UAMMI) is a federal and state funded initiative to bring together public, private, community, industry and education partners to assure growth and sustainability of Utah’s advanced material and manufacturing industry.
Advanced manufacturing companies, such as Northrop Grumman, KIHOMAC, and Janicki, are in need of qualified candidates to fill workforce demands. Through Utah Works training, an individual will complete an aggressive two-week training as a composite technician. As a composite technician, different skills including oven processes and vacuum techniques are used, as well as maintaining and repairing composite components.
